This class will offer quality education which focuses on the knowledge-dissemination of hymns, hymnology (the study of hymns, history, classification, etc.), and the Coptic language.
Class Vision
The vision of King David’s hymns class is to be a fully coordinated teaching system for the children and adolescents in St. George Coptic Orthodox Church and a leader for promoting hymns education
Material Disseminated
- Hymns – Regular & seasonal church hymns in the Coptic and English language.
- Hymnology – History, classification, and studies of hymns.
- Coptic Language – The body of Coptic words and their use common to the Coptic community.

- Preparation for the deaconship rank exams.
- Intellectual stimulation - High school music students score higher on the math and verbal portion of SAT, compared to their peers (Profile of SAT and Achievement Test Takers, The College Board, compiled by Music Educators Conference, 2001).
Class Rules
- A student must remain silent while the class is in session. Questions can be asked, but after raising one’s hand.
- Students must come to class on time.
